Armando Garcia Davila

El Gran Viento is the story of an immigrant’s experience coming from the south to the north, told in English and Spanish in poetic verse. The presentation, through a series of poems, recited bilingually, captures the experience of many who come to this country seeking a better life for themselves and their families.

 Armando Garcia-Davila has lived the immigrant experience and authored stories and poems that describe it. Born in the United States to Mexican immigrant parents, Armando attended community college in San Diego County and later majored in English literature at Sonoma State College. He was elected the Healdsburg Literary Laureate for 2002 – 2003 and has been a guest presenter at many schools, universities and colleges He has read from his works on local and national radio and at bookstores from Sonoma County to San Francisco.
